What we do
Most of our calls are one of two things: the house is too cold or the house is too hot. We fix the one in front of us, then help keep the other from happening next season.
A furnace that quits at 2am in January or an air conditioner that dies in the middle of a July heat wave can’t wait for next week. Call, tell us what it’s doing, and we’ll tell you when a technician can be there and what the visit costs. No-heat calls with kids or older folks in the house go first.
No heat · No cool · Seven daysIgniters, flame sensors, inducer motors, pressure switches, blowers and control boards. We find what failed, show it to you and fix it, usually from parts on the truck.
Gas furnaces · Heat pumpsWarm air from the vents, a condenser that hums but won’t start, ice on the lines. Capacitors, contactors, fan motors, refrigerant leaks and clogged drains.
Central air · Mini-splitsIf a repair will buy you good years, we say so. If the system is near the end, you get a written price for the fix and for a replacement side by side, and time to think. Ask about financing.
Repair vs. replace · Ask about financingThe furnace in fall, the AC in spring. We clean, test and adjust, and flag worn parts before they fail on the coldest or hottest day. Plan members get reminders and go first when it’s busy.
Fall furnace · Spring ACLukewarm showers, a pilot that won’t stay lit, a puddle under the tank. We repair and replace tank and tankless water heaters, and haul the old one away.
Tank · TanklessIllinois winters dry out a house: static shocks, cracked lips, gaps opening in the wood floors. A whole-home humidifier on the furnace puts moisture back in the air, and a better filter cuts the dust you see floating in the afternoon sun.
Humidifiers · FiltrationText a photo of the label on the furnace or the outdoor unit. The model and age usually tell us whether a repair makes sense before we come out.
