What we do
Most yards need both: something solid to stand on and something green to look at. We design them together so the patio and the planting actually fit each other.
Patios sized for the table and chairs you actually own, walkways that follow the way people already walk, and steps with a proper rise. Every one sits on a compacted gravel base, edged so it doesn’t creep into the lawn.
Pavers · Flagstone · StepsBlock walls for slopes, raised beds and terraced yards, with drainage stone and a pipe behind them so water has somewhere to go besides through the wall.
Terraces · Raised bedsFire pits, seat walls and a spot for the grill that isn’t on the lawn. The part of the yard people end up using every night in September.
Fire pits · Seat wallsPerennials, shrubs and trees chosen for clay soil and for the amount of sun the bed actually gets, planted at the right depth and mulched.
Perennials · Shrubs · TreesStanding water after every rain, a soggy side yard, downspouts dumping against the foundation. Regrading, dry creek beds and buried drain lines.
Grading · Dry creeksBed cleanup, cutting back, edging and fresh mulch in spring; leaves and cutback in fall. We do it for the yards we’ve built so the planting grows in the way it was drawn.

Utilities marked through JULIE, then we dig out and build the base in compacted layers.
Same crew start to finish. We walk it with you at the end and leave the yard raked clean.
