Before anyone climbs
What we do
Most calls are one of three things: something fell, something’s about to, or something’s in the way. Here’s what we do about each.
A limb through the gutter, a tree across the fence after a July thunderstorm, a split trunk leaning at the house. We come out, make it safe, get it off the roof or the fence, and photograph everything before and after so your insurance claim has what it needs.
Limbs on roofs · Trees on fences · Insurance photosWhen there’s no room to drop it, we climb it and take it down in sections, lowering each piece on a rope. Anything touching the main power lines gets the utility called first.
Sectional removal · RiggingDead wood out, limbs lifted off the roof and the driveway, and the crown thinned so wind passes through instead of pushing on it. Clean cuts at the branch collar: no stubs, no topping.
Deadwood · Clearance · ThinningStumps ground below the grass line so you can seed or plant over the spot. Utilities are marked through JULIE before the grinder touches the ground, and the chips get raked back in or hauled off, your call.
Below grade · Utilities markedEmerald ash borer has killed ash trees all over northern Illinois. A dead ash dries out and turns brittle, and the longer it stands the harder and riskier it is to take down. We’ll tell you straight whether yours can wait.
