Plumber website design for Lake County & McHenry County shops

Nobody shops for a plumber. They find one, standing in an inch of water with a phone in one hand and a towel in the other. If yours is the first number that looks real, the job is yours before anyone else gets the chance to quote it.

The problem

Plumbing is bought in the worst five minutes of someone’s week.

Your website gets read on the basement stairs, not at a desk.

The search happens mid-emergency

The person looking for you will read about three words and a phone number. A page that loads a video first, or needs pinching and zooming to find the number, is a page they back out of while the water keeps running.

Good plumbing is invisible

A new pressure-reducing valve or a repaired drain line does not photograph like a new kitchen, so plumbing sites fill up with stock models holding clean wrenches. Homeowners can tell. Real photos of real jobs, even ugly ones, do more.

A dead water heater is a purchase in disguise

No hot water feels urgent, but the homeowner still wants to know what size, tank or tankless, and how long the new one should last. Answer that on the page and you win the replacement, not just the service call.

Sump calls arrive in bunches

Heavy spring rain can take out sump pumps across a whole subdivision on the same night. Those calls go to the shops Google already connects with sump pump repair in that town, and that connection takes months of a page being live to build.

What it takes

What a plumbing site needs before the next burst pipe.

Six things, in the order a panicked homeowner needs them.

Water on the floor? One tap

The number pinned to the bottom of the phone screen with a plain line above it, and your real hours next to it. If you answer nights, it says so; if you don’t, it says when you will.

A shut-off guide on the page

A short, honest note on finding the main shut-off, usually where the water line comes into the basement near the meter. People search for it while the water runs, and the one who shut it off first is calmer when your truck pulls up.

Your Illinois licence, in view

Illinois licenses plumbers, and careful homeowners look for the number. Put it near the top with your insurance instead of in the footer, where the person deciding whether to let you in will actually see it.

A page per kind of job

Water heaters, sump pumps, drains and sewer lines, leaks and repiping, fixtures. Each one is its own search with its own worries, and one page trying to cover all of them ranks for none. Heating work as well? See our HVAC website design page.

Photos from the job, not a catalogue

The rusted old tank next to the new one, the corroded fitting you cut out, the camera view of roots in the sewer line. Proof that you were in a basement like theirs last week.

Straight talk about price

Say how you charge: a trip fee, a flat rate per job, or a price after you look. Nobody expects a number for a mystery leak, but everybody wants to know how the number gets decided.

Proof

A plumbing demo, clearly labelled.

Straight answer: no plumbing company has hired us yet. The site on the laptop above is Kettlebrook Plumbing & Drain, a made-up company we built so you can see the work, and it says so on every page. The live site we point people to is Creative Concrete Company in Palatine, a paying client in a different trade.

What the demo does for a plumber

It is built for the phone call first and the research second, because that is the order people need a plumber in.

  • Leak, sump pump, water heater or drain is the first thing the form asks, so you know what you’re driving to.
  • Text a photo of it sits next to the call button; a picture of a leak explains more than a paragraph.
  • The shut-off question is answered in the FAQ, where a person searching with water running will find it.
  • Tank and tankless water heaters are explained side by side, which is how people compare them.
  • Every review on it is marked as a sample. Yours would be your real Google reviews, quoted exactly.
  • Spanish is one tap away, the same page in both languages.

If you’re a plumber in Lake or McHenry County, you could be the first real one on this page. The mockup is free whether or not you go ahead.

Every project starts with a free mockup, and every build splits 50/50 — half down to start, half to launch. Nothing hourly, nothing hidden.

Which one fits?

A one-van plumber and a shop with a drain crew need different things. Here’s the usual starting point for each.

Owner-operator, one or two vans

Working Fire

Up to five pages: emergencies, water heaters, drains, the towns you drive to, and a gallery of real jobs.

Several trucks, or a sewer and drain crew

Second Alarm

Eight to ten pages so water heaters, sump pumps, sewer camera work and repiping each rank on their own, with every old page forwarded if you already have a site.

Just want the emergency number findable, fast? The Attack Line puts one page up in about a week, or in 24–72 hours on a rush, for an extra fee. Tell us on the form what you’re weighing and we’ll point you at the cheapest plan that does it.

Every build ships with click-to-call, tap-to-text, a lead form that never loses a lead, spam protection, English and Spanish, and call tracking events. Standard on every tier — not upsells.

Straight answers

Questions plumbers put to us.

What does a plumbing website cost?
Three flat builds. The Attack Line is $1,000 for a single page plus privacy and terms. Working Fire is $2,500 for up to five pages and fits most owner-operators. Second Alarm is $4,500 for eight to ten pages, for shops with separate water heater, sump, drain and sewer work to rank. Half is paid to start and half at launch, with no hourly billing.
Won’t a shut-off guide just teach people to fix it themselves?
Closing a valve isn’t a repair. It stops the damage while they wait for you, and people remember who helped them in the first five minutes. It is also one of the things homeowners search for most urgently, which brings them to your page first.
Can the site say we’re 24/7 if we’re not quite?
It shouldn’t, and we won’t write it. A promise you break at 3 a.m. turns into a one-star review by 9. We’ll word your real hours clearly and make leaving a message easy for the calls that come in after them.
Is Spanish worth it for a plumbing company here?
In a lot of Lake County towns, many families are more comfortable in Spanish, and a burst pipe is a bad moment to struggle with a second language. The switch costs nothing extra on any plan, and the Spanish is written by people, not a translation widget.
We’re busy already. Why now?
Busy with what, is the question. A site lets you choose more of the work you want, like water heater replacements and repipes, instead of taking whatever the phone brings. And pages take months to rank, so the right time is before the slow stretch, not during it.
