Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 31, 2026
Salty Web Co ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or hire us, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep this short and in plain English on purpose.

01Who we are
Salty Web Co is a small, first-responder-owned web design business. We build and maintain websites for small businesses. For any question about this policy or your personal information, email us at [email protected].
02Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use the contact form on our website, it opens a message in your own email application that is pre-filled with what you typed — your name, email address, business name, and a description of what you need. That message is not stored on our website; it is sent to us by email only when you choose to send it. We then hold that email in our email account.
If you become a client, we also collect the information you send us in the normal course of the project — for example business details, logos and photos, page content, login details for services you ask us to work on, and billing information needed to invoice you.
Information collected automatically
Our website is hosted by a third-party hosting provider. Like almost all web hosts, it keeps standard server logs that may include your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request, and the date and time of your visit. This is used for security, troubleshooting, and basic traffic volume — not to identify you personally.
Payment information
We do not collect or store your credit card or bank account numbers on our website. If you pay us, payment is handled directly by a third-party payment processor or by a method you and we agree on, and that provider's own privacy policy governs the information you give them.
03How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiry and prepare a free mockup, quote, or proposal
- To perform the work you hire us to do and communicate with you about your project
- To invoice you and keep our own business and tax records
- To maintain, secure, and troubleshoot our website
- To comply with our legal obligations
We do not send marketing emails to people who have not asked to hear from us, and we never sell your personal information.
04Cookies and tracking
This website does not set its own cookies, and we do not run advertising trackers or third-party analytics on it.
Our website does load fonts from Google Fonts so the site displays correctly. When your browser requests those fonts, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information. Google's handling of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
If we add analytics or any other tracking to this site in the future, we will update this policy first and add a cookie notice where one is required.
05How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in these limited situations:
- Service providers. Companies that help us operate — for example our website host, our email provider, and any payment processor. They may only use the information to provide their service to us.
- Services you ask us to set up. If you hire us to configure hosting, a domain, a Google Business Profile, or a similar third-party service on your behalf, we will provide the information those services require.
- Legal reasons. If we are required to by law, subpoena, or valid legal process, or where we believe it is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business transfer. If our business is sold or merged, client information may transfer as part of that transaction.
06How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails and project files for as long as we need them for the project and for our business records afterwards — typically for the duration of our working relationship plus the period required for tax and legal recordkeeping. You can ask us to delete your information at any time, subject to any records we are legally required to keep.
07How we protect it
Our website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection. We use reputable providers for hosting and email, keep software up to date, and limit access to client information to those who need it. That said, no method of transmitting or storing information over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us passwords or other sensitive credentials by plain email — ask us and we will arrange a secure method.
08Your privacy rights
You can email us at any time to ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to ask what we hold and why. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you or treat you differently for making a request.
California residents
If you live in California, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction of it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by California law, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
UK and EU residents
If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have rights under the UK GDPR / GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our lawful bases for processing are your consent (when you contact us), the performance of a contract (when we do work for you), and our legitimate interests in operating and securing our business. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
09Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, email us and we will delete it.
10Links to other sites
Our website may link to other websites we do not control — for example a client's website or a third-party tool. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If the change is significant, we will make that clear. Continuing to use our website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
